Pine Creek 11 minutes (9 kms) from the Rose and Ale
Pine Creek is a restaurant with a large playground and is a lovely, family-orientated outing for the whole family, young and old, to enjoy.
There are plenty of seating options inside or outside, but we particularly enjoyed the outdoor area and found a shady table close to the children’s playground.
The menu has lots to choose from, on the kiddie’s menu are chicken nuggets, hot dogs, burgers and pizzas. The adult’s menu ranges from burgers to various grills, snack baskets and of course, farm-style breakfasts (served until 11:30am). Providing the perfect touch to a family outing. We have to say that it was one of the best burgers we have tasted!
The meals are well presented with generously sized portions. The deserts include traditional malva pudding and chocolate brownies, plus an array of different cakes to choose from. There are waffles with various toppings, and you can also enjoy freshly baked scones if you happen to go at teatime.
There is a good coffee specialty selection as well as other hot drinks and a well-stocked bar. We found the service prompt, efficient, and friendly
After our dinner, we enjoyed a train ride with our youngest daughter; it felt like we were on the way to a mystical country. With the birds singing in the background, monkeys jumping from tree to tree as the train went along, we passed ducks in a nearby pond and absorbed the beautiful scenery. The children chatted away with excitement.
Within the restaurant area, there is a small farmstall selling farm-fresh produce. Loaves of artisan bread, homemade jams, sauces, biscuits, and cakes. There is also a delightful gift shop selling hand-crafted soaps, jewellery, kitchen crafts, bags, and clothing items. I am sure you will find something special to take home.
It was a morning well spent as a family and we recommend Pine Creek as an option in both good and bad weather.
See you there!
